DFT also hosts and organizes Group Events held at the owners’ private estate. These packages can be customised for each group. They can be done as private events as well as corporate packages.
But first, a little about the Venue and the man it owns: The event will take place 10 minutes from historical ‘Suraj Kund’. It is a 6 acre farmhouse with lush green lawns, many trees and large numbers of birds, including the wild Indian Peacock. This farm is owned by Chef and Hotelier Prem Kalra. His devotion to his family home is rivalled only his love for food. He is a qualified chef who has owned and worked in restaurants around the world. His home is a venue quoted in articles written by Award winning journalist and novelist Khushwant Singh (winner of Padma Bhushan in 1974 and Padma Vibhushan in 2007). We offer the following events:
1. Cooking Competitions
This event is set up in the lush gardens around the house where each teams has its own cooking station. The teams can either be asked to reproduce a dish demonstrated to them by our resident chef, or given a ‘mystery box’ of ingredients using which they must create a dish using their skills or imagination.
Following the competition, we will serve a buffet lunch/dinner for the group.
We also provide the option of entertainment e.g. musicians/dancers, ladies to do traditional henna tattoos etc.
We can provide a price on request.
2. Eating Contests
These can be done at the venue of your choice. Our role will be to liaise with the venue to ensure that everything has been set up. we will ensure that the best local foods are provided for the competition.
We can edit the method of competition as per each situation however, this is our current recommendation: Each seat will have a plate of local food that is a standard size and has been measured to ensure each person has the same weight of food. Everyone will start eating at the same time when a buzzer goes off. Whoever finishes first or is the last person still eating is the winner.
For the audience, we will ensure that there are a variety of local snacks and drinks available to taste.
Following the competition, we will serve a buffet lunch/dinner for the group.
